If you haven’t yet entered a team in this year’s annual UNSW Volleyball Trivia Night, there’s still time. Entries close on Wednesday 9th May, so get your entry in to secure a spot for your table.
This year the Trivia Night will be held at the Doncaster Hotel, and we’re expecting a big turnout with excellent prizes up for grabs. The details are as follows:
Date: Friday 11th May, 2012
Time: 7pm with Trivia questions starting from 8pm
Location: The Doncaster Hotel, 268 Anzac Parade Kensington
Cost: $50 for groups of 6-7 or $10 for individual registration

The 2012 Eastern University Games will be held in Tamworth, from 1st-5th July. The UNSW Volleyball Club will be commencing trials for the Eastern University Games teams from Monday 14th May. In order to be eligible, you must be a currently enrolled UNSW student in any degree program (undergraduate or postgraduate, coursework or research).
All trials will be held at the Level 1 Courts at the UNSW Fitness and Aquatic Centre, Cnr Anzac Pde and High St, Kensington. The times of the trials for both men and women will be as follows:
Date: Monday 14th May
Monday 21st May
Time: 5pm-7pm
If you wish to be considered for the Eastern University Games teams but cannot attend the trials for any reason, please e-mail enquiry@unswvolleyball.org as soon as possible.

Congratulations to all the UNSW teams who played at State Cup 2 in Illawarra over the weekend. For the first time in a long time, all four teams took home some silverware.
Both the Honours and Division 1 women placed 3rd to secure Bronze in their respective divisions, while the two men's team faced each other in the Division 1 final, inevitably bringing home Gold and Silver.

Congratulations to all the UNSW teams who competed in Manly Cup over the weekend. UNSW fielded a team in each division, with good results overall.
Both the Honours and Division 1 Men came away with Silver. The Honours Women took the Bronze, and the Division 1 Women finished 5th.

UNSW sent 3 teams (Honours Men, Honours and Division 1 Women) to compete in State Cup 1, held in Orange over the weekend.
Congratulations to the Honours Women, who persevered through a close final (25-23, 21-25, 18-16) against the BHV Bees to bring home the Gold.

For the first time in 2012, the UNSW Volleyball Club will be running an Intermediate training session. This session is suitable for players who are above Beginner level but either cannot commit to the full Representative program, or are not selected for the Representative squads. It's a great way to improve your skills without the higher level of commitment required of Representative players.
Intermediate training will run every Monday from 5pm-7pm for both men and women, starting on Monday 5th March. To join the training, simply come along to the Level 1 Courts at the UNSW Fitness and Aquatic Centre on Monday 5th March at 5pm. If you have any questions about the Intermediate training, please e-mail intermediate@unswvolleyball.org.

New to volleyball, or just want to improve your basic skills?
The UNSW Volleyball Club offers a Beginners Course, which caters for both complete beginners, and those who have played some volleyball in the past, but want to refresh or improve their basic skills.
The Session 1 Beginners Course for 2012 will commence on Wednesday 29th February. To join this course simply come along to the Level 1 Courts at the UNSW Fitness and Aquatic Centre on Wednesday 29th February at 5pm. The UNSW Volleyball Club will be holding their annual Beach Volleyball Day on Sunday 26th February.
Come down to the south side of Maroubra Beach (where the volleyball nets are) from 10:30am for a day of beach volleyball. Everyone is welcome, and for those interested in joining the club in 2012 it’s a great way to meet other club members.
BYO food and drinks, and don’t forget to bring water and sunscreen!

The UNSW Volleyball Club will be commencing trials for the 2012 representative teams from Monday 20th February.
All trials will be held at the Level 1 Courts at the UNSW Fitness and Aquatic Centre, Cnr Anzac Pde and High St, Kensington. The times of the trials will be as follows:
Monday 20th February
Women: 6pm-7:30pm
Men: 7:30pm-9pm
Wednesday 22nd February
Women: 6pm-8pm
Men: 8pm-10pm
The trials will continue the following week at the same times.
